5 Tips on What to Bring When Photographing a Toddler or Baby

Updated: Jul 7, 2021

Getting ready for family portraits and not sure what to bring to your photo session? Here are 5 tips and ideas on what to bring to your session and capture some amazing photos:

A Blanket

If possible, it's best to bring a blanket that matches with the outfits they will be wearing.

Toys

Bringing your toddler's or baby's favorite toy is a great way to make them laugh during the shoot and capture those precious moments!

Props

Props are a great way to add to the shoot! I have had people bring a wide range of items such as signs, stuffed animals, numbers, balloons, chairs, and my favorite so far a bubble machine!

Accessories

Accessories are a great way to change out the outfit without having to do a wardrobe change! Headbands, barrettes, suspenders, hats, etc. are all great options to switch up their looks!

Book a shorter session

This is my biggest recommendation for those thinking about booking a photoshoot with their babies or toddlers. As I find 30 minutes is the perfect amount of time before they get too tired or hungry.

I hope that these tips helped and if you have any questions or you're located in the Jacksonville FL area and are looking for a photographer please feel free to send me a message!
